Viewing & Following Guides
How to view Guides in standard and checklist mode, and provide feedback
Finding Guides
To access Guides, click Guides in the main navigation sidebar. You'll see all Guides that have been published and assigned to you, organised by folder.
You can find Guides by:
- Browsing folders - Navigate through the folder structure to find relevant Guides
- Searching - Use the search bar to find Guides by title, description, or keyword
Tip
Viewing Modes
Guides can be viewed in two different modes, each suited to different situations:
| Mode | Description | Best For |
|---|---|---|
| Standard View | Shows all steps on a single page with full details and screenshots | Reading through a Guide, reviewing content, or printing |
| Checklist / Process Mode | Shows one step at a time with progress tracking and completion checkboxes | Following a procedure in real-time while performing the task |
Standard View
The standard view displays all steps in sequence on a single page. Each step shows:
- Step number - The position in the sequence
- Title - A brief description of the action
- Description - Detailed instructions for the step
- Screenshot - Visual illustration of what the screen should look like
- Highlight overlays - Coloured boxes highlighting the important area on the screenshot
- Blur overlays - Blurred areas hiding sensitive information
Navigation
In standard view, you can scroll through all steps at once. A breadcrumb navigation at the top shows the folder path back to the Guides listing.
Printing
Standard view supports printing. Click the Print button to generate a printer-friendly version of the Guide with all steps and screenshots included.
Checklist / Process Mode
Checklist mode is designed for following a Guide in real-time while performing the task. It shows one step at a time with progress tracking:
- Focus on one step - Only the current step is displayed prominently
- Progress bar - Shows how far through the Guide you are
- Next/Previous controls - Navigate between steps as you complete each one
- Completion tracking - Mark each step as complete as you go
Tip
Image Overlays
Screenshots in Guides may include visual overlays added by the Guide creator:
| Overlay Type | Appearance | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Highlight | A coloured rectangular border around an area | Draws your attention to the specific button, field, or element to interact with |
| Blur | A blurred/pixelated rectangular area | Hides sensitive information like personal data or passwords |
Providing Feedback
Guides support two types of feedback to help creators improve the content:
Completion Feedback
When you finish reading or following a Guide, you may see a feedback prompt asking:
- Whether the Guide was useful (yes/no)
- Optional text to suggest improvements
Per-Step Feedback
You can also provide feedback on individual steps if something is unclear or incorrect. This helps Guide creators identify exactly which steps need improvement.
