Onboarding packages, public enrolment links, and temp-staff accounts for contractors

What contractor accounts are

Contractors register as temp-staff users (isTempStaff). They have a limited LMS experience focused on assigned training, risk assessments, external certificate uploads, and their compliance passport QR. They cannot access full admin or catalog features.

Contractor management page

Site Management → Contractor management shows temp-staff users in a familiar user table. You can:

  • Add users individually or via bulk import
  • Review compliance and assigned training
  • Open Onboarding packages to create and manage public enrolment links

Create an onboarding package (wizard)

Onboarding & QR links — create package wizard with sites, package details, courses, certificates, and risk assessments
The six-step wizard: pick sites (compliance rules pre-fill the package), name the package, then choose courses, external certificates, and risk templates before review.

Sites

Associate one or more sites. Tenant-wide and per-site compliance rules pre-fill the next steps.

Package details

Enter a package name to find it later in Manage packages.

Courses

Select e-learning courses to assign after sign-up. Defaults from compliance rules are merged when you leave the Sites step.

External certificates

Optional: catalog entries in category External Certificate (contractors upload evidence such as CSCS cards).

Risk assessments

Optional: published risk or questionnaire templates — draft assessments are created on signup.

Review

Confirm the package contents and create the link. Copy the URL or display the QR code.

Tip

QR re-display without regenerating requires server-side token sealing to be configured by your platform team.

What happens on registration

  • Contractor validates the link and registers (name, email, password)
  • Account created as temp-staff; link usage count incremented
  • Selected courses assigned (standard + external certificate requirements)
  • Draft risk assessment created per selected published template (uses template default site when valid)
  • Contractor is signed in immediately after successful registration

Warning

Packages can set expiry dates and maximum uses. Expired or exhausted links reject validation.
