Learner Verify
Enable learner identity verification on courses and manage manual approvals
Overview
Learner Verify is designed for courses where you need stronger confidence that the assigned learner completed the training themselves.
- Captures a baseline image at launch, checkpoints during playback, and a final image at completion.
- Uses AI confidence scoring for automatic verification when confidence is high enough.
- Sends lower-confidence or AI-unavailable cases to manager/admin manual review.
- Supports auditable outcomes with reviewer decisions and reason capture.
How Decisioning Works
| Condition | System Outcome |
|---|---|
| AI confidence at or above threshold (typically 0.80) | Auto-verified |
| AI confidence below threshold | Manual review required |
| AI unavailable, timeout, or provider error | Manual review required |
| Manual review approved | Completion stands |
| Manual review denied | Course progress reset to not started |
Tip
Enablement Steps
Enable Learner Verify for the Tenant
Turn on the Learner Verify feature in tenant-level feature controls first.
Enable Learner Verify on Target Courses
In course settings/assignment rules, enable Learner Verify only on courses where identity assurance is required.
Run a Pilot
Test with a small user group to confirm camera consent messaging, review queue behavior, and decision outcomes.
Manual Review Flow (Approvals)
Unverified attempts appear in the Approvals area. Reviewers can inspect image evidence, capture timestamps, and learner completion context before deciding.
- Managers only see direct reports.
- Admins can review tenant-wide.
- Deny requires a reason and triggers retake behavior.
Retention and Security Notes
- Evidence storage is tenant-scoped.
- Checkpoint images are cleaned when no longer needed.
- Retention enforcement runs via cleanup automation.
- Access to review and evidence endpoints is role and tenant restricted.
Troubleshooting
Learner does not see camera consent
Confirm both tenant feature and course requirement are enabled.
Attempt not auto-approved
Low confidence and AI unavailability are expected to route to manual review.
Manager cannot see a review item
Managers are restricted to direct reports; use an admin account for wider scope.
