Course Video Studio
Create AI-assisted course videos with scenes, scripts, compile, and preview
Overview
The Course video block is TrainMeUK's built-in video studio. It turns your course content into a narrated explainer video with AI-generated scene images, captions, and a full authoring workflow — scenes, script, compile, preview, and version history.
This is different from the standard Video block, which embeds an external clip (YouTube, Vimeo, or a direct MP4 URL). Use Course video when you want TrainMeUK to create the video for you. Use Video when you already have a file or hosted link.
| Block | Best for |
|---|---|
| Course video | AI-assisted explainers tied to your course pages and objectives |
| Video | Existing hosted or uploaded clips (YouTube, Vimeo, MP4) |
| Video + Text | Half-width embed alongside written content |
Tip
Add a Course Video Block
Open the page toolkit
In the Course Builder, select the page where the video should appear. Open the left-hand Toolkit sidebar.
Video & Audio → Course video
Expand Video & Audio, then click Course video ( "AI-generated explainer video block with studio editor").
The block is added to your page with a placeholder. Learners will not see a finished video until you compile and publish.
Note
Open Video Studio
Click Open video studio
On the Course video block, click Open video studio. The studio opens full-screen over the editor.
The studio reads your SCORM project — course name, objectives, and other page widgets — so Corsa can ground the script in what you have already written.
Tip
First-Time Setup: Corsa or Manual
The first time you open a new Course video project, a setup modal appears. You must choose how to start — you cannot dismiss it without picking an option.
Start with Corsa (recommended)
- What should this video cover? — describe the topic, audience, and takeaway (defaults to an introduction aligned with course objectives)
- Target length — slider from 30 seconds to 5 minutes
- Photo / image style — e.g. photo-realistic or illustration styles
Click Start with Corsa. Corsa drafts slides and narration — usually under a minute. You can refine everything afterwards in the script view or Corsa chat panel.
Create manually
Choose Create manually if you prefer to write scenes yourself. You get a blank project and can add slides from the scenes panel or ask Corsa later via the Corsa button in the toolbar.
Slides Panel
The Scenes panel on the left lists every slide in your video. Each scene is one beat of the story — a title card, explanation, do/don't comparison, timeline step, or similar.
| Action | How |
|---|---|
| Select a slide | Click it in the scenes list |
| Add a slide | Use the add control in the scenes panel |
| Reorder | Drag scenes up or down |
| Delete | Remove a scene you no longer need |
Selecting a scene loads it in the centre script view, where you edit narration and on-screen text.
Script, Narration, and Corsa
The centre panel is your script editor. For each scene you can edit:
- Narration — spoken voice-over (what the learner hears)
- On-screen text — bullets or labels shown on the slide
- Image prompts — guidance for AI scene art (or upload your own image)
Toggle the Corsa panel on the right to chat with the AI assistant. Ask Corsa to rewrite narration, insert new scenes, patch wording, or regenerate a single slide. Changes save automatically as you work.
The header shows a target length vs estimated runtime based on your script. If the estimate is well under target, expand the script before compiling.
Tip
Generate Images
After your script is in place, generate visual art for each scene:
- Click Generate images in the studio toolbar (or the equivalent control in the script view)
- The system creates AI images from each scene's prompt and visual style
- Review each card — use Regenerate on individual scenes or upload a replacement image if needed
You need narration on at least one slide before Generate images is enabled. Compilation reuses existing art and does not call the image generator again unless you explicitly regenerate.
Warning
Compile Video (~10 Minutes)
Compile video renders your scenes into an MP4 preview with narration, motion, and captions. This is a background job — you do not need to keep the studio open.
Confirm you are ready
A confirmation dialog reminds you to check narration, on-screen text, generated images, and estimated length before you start.
Compile runs in the background
Typical flow:
- Queued — waiting if another video is rendering
- Compiling — stitching narration and scenes (~10 minutes once rendering starts)
- Attaching — saving the MP4 onto your Course video block
Notification when ready
A banner appears in the Course Builder when the preview is ready. The block placeholder is replaced with a playable video.
Note
Watch Preview
When a preview exists, click Watch preview in the studio toolbar to switch from script view to a full-width player. Use native controls to check pacing, captions, and visuals.
On the page itself, the Course video block shows the same preview player. Learner must-watch and autoplay settings work like a standard uploaded video block once the course is published.
Versions
Click Versions (history icon) in the studio toolbar to browse previous compiled exports. You can:
- Watch an older compile
- Set which export is the active preview on the block
- Compare iterations after script or image changes
Each new compile creates a new version. While a new compile runs, the previous preview stays visible until the new one is attached.
Preview vs Publish to Learners
Compiling inside the studio only updates the preview on your SCORM project. Learners receive the video when the course reaches Course Management:
- Finish editing the full SCORM project (video block plus other pages)
- Export or publish the project using Publish in Course Management from the Course Builder (project card or course details modal)
- In Course Management, assign the published course to groups or individuals as usual
The publish step bundles your SCORM package and course listing settings (including expiry, if configured in course details). See Course Builder (Course Management) and Exporting and Downloading for the full publish workflow.

| 2 | Start with Corsa or create manually |
| 3 | Edit script and on-screen text per scene |
| 4 | Generate images and review each slide |
| 5 | Compile video (~10 min background render) |
| 6 | Watch preview and adjust if needed |
| 7 | Publish in Course Management when the full course is ready |
Troubleshooting
Compile lost after server restart
Background compile jobs live on the render server. If the server restarts while your video is queued or rendering, the job may disappear and the block shows Compile failed — retry needed or Compile job was lost (server may have restarted).
- Open video studio again
- Confirm your script and images are still saved
- Click Compile video to start a fresh render
Your previous preview (if any) remains on the block until a new compile succeeds.
Stale source / course content changed
The video project snapshots your course pages and objectives when Corsa first drafts the video. If you later change course pages, objectives, or key widgets, the studio may flag that the source is stale — the video no longer reflects the latest course content.
- Review what changed in the course since the video was drafted
- Update scenes manually or ask Corsa to refresh sections that reference outdated content
- Regenerate affected scene images if visuals no longer match
- Re-compile when you are satisfied
Compile stuck or very slow
Another project may be ahead in the queue. Wait for the banner to update, or check queue position in the compile panel on the block. Rendering typically takes about 10 minutes once it starts.
Revision conflict while saving
If two browser tabs edit the same video project, you may see a conflict banner. Click Reload to fetch the latest version, then re-apply any unsaved changes.
Video plays in builder but not for learners
You likely have a preview compile only. Publish the SCORM project to Course Management and ensure learners are assigned the published course.
